I feel like this is everyone, and I just want to say… stick with it and you’ll be fine. Be smart, don’t take 100k of loans unless you’re going to be able to make it back (as in you’re going into a high-paying field like computer science or medicine), save where you can by living at home or choosing a less expensive school. It’ll be okay. It really will. The only ones that fail are the ones who give up and stagnate and stop looking for ways around problems. You may not be able to go to school full time and you may not find your dream job and you might have to take an internship and work for free for a while, but keep going.

French! That’s so awesome! I actually either buy old picture books from thrift stores and use those or print some out from my “Totally Vintage” blog.

Magazines get really repetitive after you use them for a while (especially the ones that are coming out right now). I mean they’re good for maybe getting good posters of your favorite celebrity but that’s kind of the only thing (for me, at least). Old books have more interesting photos, angles, and landscapes that are basically begging to be added to your journal or sketchbook.

So, next time you go thrifting, head to the book section and see if you can find some old picture books or maybe look for science books or anatomy books. Informative books can also have really interesting images. I found one a couple weeks ago about life in the ocean and it had really awesome close up shots of coral and plants that i used for textures and little add-ons in my sketchbook.
